Departmental ADVANCE Grants
Departments may apply for funds up to $3,000 to develop and execute their own recruitment strategies to diversify applicant pools. The faculty who apply are encouraged to identify the specific challenges for recruiting women to their department applicant pools and to develop a plan that is informed by best practices and national research to address these challenges.
Applicants are encouraged to examine the web sites of NSF ADVANCE programs at other institutions for best practices, new ideas, and challenges.
How to Apply:
Submit an application with your plan and an end-of-year report on how the funds were spent. ADVANCE-Nebraska co-PIs will evaluate and select the recipients.
Criteria for Selecting Grant Recipients:A well-thought out plan with an appropriate budget. Innovative strategies, supported by examples (and/or literature) of the strategy (-ies) having worked at a comparable institution or other department within UNL.
